Statement

I work with a variety of different mediums and styles, but I specialize in painting, printmaking and drawing. I take interest in relief printmaking, oil painting, acrylic painting, graphite drawing, and digital drawing specifically. While I may have a niche in using those mediums, I’m not afraid to channel my inner mad scientist and experiment, whether it’s binding a book with unconventional materials, painting or drawing with different mediums or crafting something new entirely. I cite my love of pop culture, my love of horror movies, my love for animals and my experiences with autism, ADHD and anxiety as my main sources of inspiration. I wear my sources like badges, and I’m not shy about letting them show through in my pieces. My pieces are admittedly driven by my excitement about these concepts and my desire to have fun with them. I even inject a little humor into my pieces as well. My pieces serve as signs of encouragement and caution to the viewer, encouraging the viewer by giving them a sense of relatability and comfort, and warning the viewer about masking their true selves and the impact it may have on their mental health. My pieces also serve as a symbolic way to inform people about mental health and these disabilities and put a spotlight on them.
